Wedge-tailed Eagle

Not a birding outing, but the family and I went for a drive across the Barrington Tops over the weekend and among all the birds I did see were several Wedge-tailed Eagles. The first one we saw was having a feast on a dead cow, but was chased away by some crows before I could start my stalk to get closer. Others were seen either riding thermals or carrying nesting materials. I have struggled for ages to get WTE photos so these are my best to date....more room for improvement. :)

Why is it that birds of prey are so easily bullied by smaller birds, especially when on some prey? Giant predators that choose to only fight back among their own kind.
